Asia’s First “Flying Bike”

Jhatayu touted as Asia’s First “Flying Bike” invented by the student start up team of 33 members from School of Aeronautical Sciences got placed in India Book of Records (2019).

Team KRATOS

Team KRATOS representing Aeronautical department attained 3rd position in Technical Presentation & 4th position in Technical Design Category in Asia Pacific Region at the SAE Aero Design East Competition - 2019, in Texas, USA.

‘Jaihind 1S’ - World’s Lightest Satellite

Mr. Hari Krishnan K. J., Mr. P. Amarnath, Mr. Giri Prasad T., and Mr. Sudhi G. Aerospace students got placed in India Book of Records (2018) for creating ‘Jaihind 1S’ - the World’s Lightest Satellite (33.39 g) using 3D Printed PLA Nylon.

Team KRATOS

Also, in SAE International-Aero Design Competition 2018 (Advanced Class) held in Florida, USA, Team “KRATOS” came 2nd in both Design Report and Presentation in Asia Pacific Region.

Best CADET

Mr. Sai Kiran of EEE was chosen as the Best Cadet SD (Air Force) in TN, PN, AN, Madras; and won a Silver Medal and Bronze Medal in Republic Day Celebrations 2018. He has also participated in the Prime Minister Rally in 2018.

HITS SAE International Aero Design Team KRATOS visited NASA Houston on 12 March 2018.

Team STALWARTZ

BAJA SAEINDIA 2018, a five-day event at Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh was conducted between 25 and 30 January 2018. 150 teams participated in the event. Team STALWARTZ won the 36th position in India, 2nd in Tamil Nadu and 1st in Chennai.

Racing Champion

Mr. Rithwik Vijay Shekar of B.Tech. Automobile Engineering won the overall Winner Trophy in the Alisha Inter College Star Race 2018 held at Madras Motor Race Track

Team LAKSHYA

A 6-member team participated in the NASA Human Exploration Rover Challenge 2017 held at the US Space and Rocket Centre in Huntsville, Alabama and ranked 33rd in the world and 1st among Indian competitors.

KALAMSAT

AeSI Chennai Branch recognized Mr. Tanishq Dwivedi, Mr. Yagna Sai and Mr. Mohammed Abdul, B. Tech. Aerospace students with Excellence Award for being a part of KALAMSAT-world's lightest satellite team launched on Terrier- Improved Orion Rocket from Wallops Island, US on 22 June 2017.

Team ASTRA

Team ASTRA comprising 14 students from School of Aeronautical Sciences ranked 13th in the SAE Aero Design West- 2017 conducted by the Society of Automotive Engineers held at Fort Worth, Texas, USA.

Trip to "Tokyo Auto Show"

Mr. M. Gokul from Automobile was the winner of “CHICANE Take a quiz and win a trip to Tokyo Auto Show” conducted on 20 October 2017. He participated in 45th Tokyo Motor Show 2017, Japan.

Team TAIYOZEN

Team TAIYOZEN of Department of Automobile Engineering won awards under Best Design & Best Cross Pad categories in Indo Asian Solar Championship 2017.

R-Biz International Robot Contest

Mr. Makesh Kumar, CSE won 3rd prize in R-Biz International Robot contest condeucted by Indian Embassy in South Korea in 2016.

Best Student of the year

Mr. Pulkit Goel, (Automobile) recevied the Best Student of the year 2015 award from President of SAE International.Graphical System Design Contest.

Niyantra Winner

Mr. Naveen Kumar Reddy (Mechanical), Mr. Sandeep Kumar, Mr. Mohit Gouda, Mr. Nitish Kumar, and Mr. Puranjan Das (EIE) won 1st prize with a cash of Rs. 75,000 in the Annual Graphical System Design Contest organized by National Instruments India, Bangalore in 2014.

Way to Indian Cricket Squad

Mr. Washington Sunder of BBA has been chosen by the Indian Cricket team to play for the Indian Premier League

Leag Meeting at NASA

Ms. Jayashree Sridhar, Aerospace Engineering has been chosen thrice consecutively for LEAG meeting at NASA Head Quarters, Washington D.C. during 2008, 2009 and 2010 and assigned a presentation. Her paper on Lunar in Space Resource Utilization was selected by IEEE for the International Conference on Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering which was held in Malaysia in 2010.
